— Fairshake, the cryptocurrency super PAC, announced it’s backing 32 House incumbents in their November contests, split across party lines.
— The pro-digital asset candidates occupy generally secure seats, which could strengthen the industry’s ties with influential legislators.
The digital asset sector’s premier political action committee, Fairshake, published another roster of candidates it’s endorsing for the November elections, supporting 13 Democrats and 19 Republicans — all current officeholders — in their U.S. House races.
These contenders are largely favored to retain their congressional positions, potentially cementing existing backing for crypto-friendly policies on Capitol Hill. Leading the pack, six candidates will each receive $1 million from Fairshake and its affiliated groups, a spokesman for the super PAC confirmed.
«Fairshake has always been and always will be an issue-focused organization,» said Spokesman Geoff Vetter in a statement. «We back pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties.»
Top Republican beneficiaries include three prominent figures in crypto circles: French Hill, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee who spearheaded crypto legislation in the House; Bill Huizenga, a senior committee member; and Bryan Steil, another member who also heads the digital assets subcommittee.
On the Democratic side, enhanced support goes to Steven Horsford, a Nevada representative who helped advance a bipartisan crypto tax measure through the House tax panel he serves on, and Derek Tran of California, Fairshake noted. Both hold an «A» rating on digital asset issues from Stand With Crypto, as does the third recipient, Janelle Bynum.
Bynum, an Oregon Democratic incumbent who unseated Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer two years ago, has voted for crypto bills during her first term and appeared at the Digital Chamber’s DC Blockchain Summit earlier this year. Chavez-DeRemer, previously backed by Fairshake, later led President Donald Trump’s Department of Labor before resigning this year amid misconduct allegations.
The 32 House incumbents on Fairshake’s latest list are strategically positioned for the industry’s upcoming legislative pushes, with many serving on the House Ways and Means Committee handling crypto tax matters and others on the pivotal House Financial Services Committee. Agriculture, science, and judiciary panels — each expected to be crucial for future crypto legislation — are also represented.
Vetter said his organization has so far backed 53 winners out of 57 primary races and is working toward «the largest pro-crypto caucus in American history.» In many primaries, Fairshake favored candidates from the party favored to win the general election — a strategy that proved successful in the previous cycle.
The House hasn’t been the source of the industry’s toughest legislative challenges, however. While the U.S. Senate approved a major crypto bill, the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act (GENIUS) Act last year, progress stalled on the more critical market structure legislation sought in recent months.
Despite the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act failing last month, Fairshake hasn’t launched a public campaign to oust senators who opposed the measure, including all Democrats and several Republicans. The PAC’s primary opposition effort targets former Senator Sherrod Brown, the Ohio Democrat who once led a crypto-skeptical Senate Banking Committee and is seeking a Senate return.
Fairshake has committed roughly $30 million to defeat him, with a PAC founded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss adding another $3 million.
Fairshake’s expenditures fund independent advertising purchases, separate from campaign operations. The super PAC avoids mentioning crypto in those ads, instead emphasizing issues it believes will most effectively sway voters.
