A major Web3 event, the first Unchained Summit, organized by Aeternum, was held at the Kempinski Central Avenue Hotel, Dubai, from April 28 to 29, 2025. For two days, the forum was a hub for discussion, idea exchange and networking.
According to the organizers, this allowed the summit to establish itself as a progressive platform on the map of global cryptocurrency events. The event attracted more than 500 participants from over 40 countries, including more than 75 speakers: entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and government officials.
“Events like Unchained Summit play a crucial role in helping to build a true community within the ecosystem,” said EigenLayer CEO Sriram Kannan.
Aeternum officials noted that Unchained Summit’s mission went beyond a normal event. They said the forum became a hub where the TradFi sector met the Web3 industry and attendees gained knowledge that will serve as the foundation for the next stage of the industry’s development.
Speakers at the event included representatives from the following companies and projects:
- CertiK;
- Mysten Labs & Sui;
- EigenLayer;
- PayPal;
- Franklin Templeton;
- Monad Foundation;
- OKX;
- Animoca Brands and other industry players.
Stablecoins, DePIN, real asset tokenization, AI in Web3, as well as institutional adoption of crypto assets and key scalability challenges were the main topics of discussion.
“While Web3 is already a $2-3 trillion industry, it is still relatively small compared to traditional markets. That’s why meetups like Unchained Summit are important — they help us come together, collaborate and build stronger coordination in the ecosystem,” said Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu.
The unofficial part of the event was also eventful, the organizers stressed. VIP parties, private meetings and networking sessions allowed attendees to discuss deals, share roadmaps and forge partnerships, Aeternum officials assured.
“The discussions that follow such events are sometimes even more important than the speeches themselves,” said Mysten Labs & Sui co-founder Kostas Halkias.
According to Fireblocks’ head of legal and compliance Jason Allegrante, the forum was not limited to conversations. He emphasized that during the Unchained Summit, participants closed real deals and successfully built new business relationships.
The organizers, for their part, said they deliberately emphasized developers and builders rather than brands. In addition, they added fireside discussions and debates to the classic event format to get away from one-sided reports.
Special attention was paid to the future challenges of Web3:
- infrastructure scaling;
- development of modular AI agents;
- enabling tokenized finance, and other topics.
As Aeternum stated, these were not theoretical debates, but conversations with people who write code, assess risks, and implement solutions in practice.
“Unchained Summit debuted in the rare, powerful Web3 arena. With an outstanding lineup of speakers including leaders from PayPal, Animoca and Ripple, the event uncovered relevant insights. A powerful start to Crypto Week in Dubai,” said BeInCrypto CEO Alena Afanasyeva.
The organizers announced that the next Unchained Summits will be held in Dubai from October 30 to 31 and in Bangalore from December 5 to 6, 2025. Future events will maintain a focus on merging Web3 with the real economy and building an inclusive financial ecosystem.
“Dubai was the perfect backdrop to launch this movement. What we saw over the two days was a genuine thirst for dialog, not hype — people came here to participate, not just attend. We look forward to continuing the story in Dubai and India later this year,” said Aeternum CEO Sharath Kumar.
The Incrypted team acted as the media partner for the event. The event was sponsored by Mesh, Own, KoinBX, MOI Technology, TAN Blockchain, AEON, BTSE, Mantle Network, f(x) Protocol, Kite AI, BlockchainX, and other companies and organizations.
