The SpoonOS project team announced the launch of an OS for AI agents

    Published on:

The developers of the SpoonOS project announced the launch of an operating system (OS) to support artificial intelligence (AI)-based agents. This was reported to Incrypted by the company.

The project is an advanced framework for running agents based on the open-source, community-driven Neo blockchain. It will simplify the development of such solutions, thereby placing the network at the forefront of the agent economy.

To accelerate adoption, SpoonOS has committed $2 million to various initiatives, the release said. These include hackathons and targeted programs for developers creating solutions in the AI agent category. The team emphasized that specific initiatives will be announced soon.

Developers noted the significant potential of Neo. In particular, the project team launched the high-performance and EVM-compliant Neo X side chain in July 2024.

Also, according to the release, Neo developers have expanded their presence in the AI space. They have partnered with the Inflectiv project, launched an AI game Matrix and added a relevant category in the Neo X Grind hackathon, the release said.

The launch of SpoonOS, in turn, is a reflection of the Neo team’s commitment that the future of Web3 is precisely AI. Equipped with a comprehensive set of tools and a rich, fully integrated OS, the platform lays the foundation for the next generation of AI agents, the developers believe.

The solution makes it easy to create, deploy and manage agents using an intuitive interface designed specifically for scalable Web3 projects, the release said.

With its privacy module, security module and data layer, SpoonOS ensures system security and user privacy. These components also support on chain and off chain data availability, providing AI agent teams with secure access to information while maintaining privacy.

The project also includes the AI Agent Interoperability Protocol. It allows AI agents to coordinate across all levels of the MCP, enabling collaborative learning. This allows the formation of a single adaptive network of agents, which, according to the developers, will be able to outperform any single AI system.

As new solutions and projects based on SpoonOS emerge, it will turn into a decentralized ecosystem where AI agents will be able to interact, learn and jointly generate some value.

Part of the mentioned $2 million amount will be allocated to train developers who work in the field of smart economy. Hackathons and targeted programs will act as an incubator for funding projects with AI agents, the team said.

SpoonOS, created specifically to meet the growing needs of Web3 developers, is an emerging OS for the next generation of AI agents. Its release brings new functionality to Web3, giving developers the tools they need to create new use cases for AI agents, the team believes.

«Today we stand on the cusp of a once-in-a-generation opportunity – the merging of AI and Web3. This is a force that we believe will lead to exponential growth for the entire industry. With SpoonOS, we are taking a bold step forward. With the full support of Neo’s funding, resources and technology, our goal is to create a universal agent OS for Web3 and thereby fulfill Neo’s long-held vision of a smart economy», — said Neo founder Da Hongfei.
