Chinese Exile Linked to Trump Strategist Sentenced to 30 Years for $1 Billion Fraud Scheme

    — Chinese businessman Miles Guo was sentenced to 30 years for multiple offenses, including operating a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme.

    — Guo, who had connections to former President Donald Trump’s advisor, Steven Bannon, developed Himalaya Coin, referred to as H-Coin.

A U.S. judge has handed down a 30-year prison sentence to Chinese businessman Miles Guo, the billionaire behind the deceptive crypto initiative Himalaya Coin, after a jury found him guilty of various crimes in 2024.

He reportedly attracted $500 million in investments, which was just one part of what U.S. authorities labeled «interconnected fraud schemes» carried out over a five-year period, resulting in his conviction on charges that included racketeering, fraud, and money laundering.

«Miles Guo orchestrated a vast operation to defraud over $1 billion from thousands of Americans and victims globally through deceit and manipulation,» stated Deputy U.S. Attorney Sean Buckley. «After coming to this country, instead of being content with the numerous legitimate opportunities available to him, Guo took advantage of the trust that thousands placed in him for his personal gain.»

Guo, who managed GTV Media Group and was arrested in 2023, was ordered to forfeit nearly $900 million in profits, his ownership of a mansion in New Jersey, and several luxury vehicles, including a Rolls Royce Phantom and a Bugatti.

Former top Trump aide Bannon was arrested on a 150-foot yacht owned by Guo in 2020 when he faced federal charges in a fraudulent fundraising case, which Trump pardoned in 2021. He faced further legal challenges at the state level and pleaded guilty in 2025, but avoided imprisonment.
