The organizers of the Bitcoin 2025 conference, which will take place on May 27-29 in Las Vegas, have announced a large-scale expansion of the Open Source Hub, a platform for developers, privacy researchers, Lightning Network engineers, and decentralized technology enthusiasts. This is stated in a press release shared with Incrypted.
“Bitcoin has no CEO. Satoshi’s been gone for over a decade. These are the people writing the code that will underpin the global financial revolution,” said David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc.
According to the press release, this year’s Open Source Stage will once again be the main center of technical discussions, bringing together Bitcoin Core developers, Lightning engineers, and security and privacy researchers.
Main innovations:
- Hackathon Awards — honoring the most innovative projects from the Bitcoin++ series;
- BitDevs Special Event — a technical forum for protocol and security research;
- Project Stations — live demonstrations of bitcoin tools from developers;
- Chain Duel Arcade — an interactive game where participants compete for the longest chain in the Lightning network;
- Nostr Lounge — a separate space for advocates of decentralized communications.
The organizers emphasize the important role of open source in creating censorship-resistant and border-independent financial instruments. The Open Source Hub was created to facilitate in-depth technical interaction and inspire new developers.
According to the Bitcoin 2025 team, the event will also include:
- Continuing Legal Education program for lawyers and financial experts;
- More than 300 exhibitors, more than 500 speakers, and more than 30,000 participants worldwide.
Free access to the Open Source Hub is provided exclusively to developers who have proven contributions to selected bitcoin projects. Journalists can apply for a press pass, which includes access to open source programming, the team noted.
